Mom pin

This is what I did with the MOM pin my daughter gave me for Christmas. The colors in the thread will go with most all of my sets of scrubs I wear to work. I will be able to wear it just about every day if I want to

Tatted bag

Finished this little tatted bag yesterday. It is 3 & 1/2 inches tall. I'll probably use it to hang on my arm and hold my ball of thread. I just love making little bags. Although this one more time consuming then crocheted ones are.

Good day!

It was a good day yesterday. Got to talk to my daughter, Tara, for a few minutes. It was so good to hear her voice. Her ship is in port for a few days in Salalah, Oman. She is loving being able to go ashore for a few days. We had Christmas dinner after my husband got home from work last night. Then we opened presents and then went up to the nursing home to visit my Daddy. The weather was horrible. We were under tornado watches coming and going. Thank the good Lord none touched down here although I did hear on the news that one touched down about 10 miles from here.
At the nursing home they had all the residents in the hallways. This really upset Daddy. He does not like to be moved out of his spot in his room at all. Luckily when we got there the tornado warning had passed and we were able to roll him in his bed back into his room.
I got several pieces of jewelry from my children. The glass pendant with pink in it is from my son Keith. All the other pieces are from my daughter Amber. She and I were looking at some pieces in Wal-Mart. I had told her I wanted to get some things that I could tat around. So she picked out the heart pendant and Mom pin for that purpose. I was so surprised! She also got me the Planters tin with nuts in them. I just love the tin!
It was a great Christmas! Today, however, I am back at work and exhausted! Hahaha

Merry Christmas

Sitting here with Daddy at the nursing home. Bless his heart he just can't seem to stay awake.
Fixing to go home and start preparing stuff for our Christmas dinner tonight. My husband had to work today and won't get off till 6pm this evening. So we are having our Christmas dinner after he gets home and open presents then too.

Another tatted daisy

Not sure what I will do with this one. Maybe make a tree ornament out of it.

Doodad

My first doodad tatting. I think it turned out pretty good. I am not used to just making up tatting on my own. I do much better with a pattern.

New tatted earrings

Here is the newest pair of earrings I have tatted. These are for me. I love the red and gold together.

My baby boy is home from college for the holidays. He got someone to cut all his hair off. I don't like it this short. It needs to grow out some.

We had our Christmas cantata at church. It went pretty good. But it sure got hot in those choir robes! I had sweat trickling down my face. I sang one verse of a song solo.

Organization

Do you ever spend hours organizing things? I do! I love to organize and re-organize things. I think I spend more time organizing then making things. Tonight I am organizing my tatting supplies once again. It's insane! One day maybe I will get everything just like I want it and stop changing it all around. Hahaha

Last night my husband and I went to our Sunday School class Christmas party. We really had a good time. The food was so good. One of the men of our church cooked the meal. He sure knows how to cook. He does catering for anyone who needs it. I dressed up for the party. I don't get the chance to dress up often. Tara sent me the lovely scarf I am wearing in the pictures from Africa.

I tatted this pretty little daisy. It is an old pattern. Westpinecreations had the link to it on her blog. I think I might make some more of them. It was fun to make and turned out so nice.

My baby boy will be home from college tomorrow for the Christmas holidays. I will be so happy to see him.

More tatting

I tatted this bracelet Sunday. I still have to put a closure on it. I used a plastic rhinestone trim for the center and tatted around. Very simple to make.

Name bracelet & earrings

This is a new Christmas bracelet I made. I got the idea from a pattern by Jane Eborall. I changed up how the name beads are added and how the outer chain is done.

Also I tatted these Christmas wreath earrings for a lady. They are some of my favorite Christmas earrings to make.

New tatted earrings

I have been working on tatting new earrings lately. Just finished this pair for my child to give her teacher. My child has finally made it through college! We are so proud!

Long time no post

I know it has been a long time since I have posted.   I'm just so bad about taking the time to do posts.  I love reading everyone else's post but just don't seem to take time to do my own post.  I also have been trying to figure out how to do post from my iPhone or nook.  Have not been able to do post from either of them.  So I had to download my photos to my laptop and do the post on it..

My daughter, Tara, graduated from her schooling at the Navy Base in Pensacola, Florida in September.  She then came home for a few weeks leave before she had to fly out to California.  From there she went to Africa and is now on her ship.  She will be on board ship for about 7 months.  We can only get emails from her.  She is doing great.  We sure miss here.

Here is a picture of Tara and me while she was home one leave.  She came up to were I work and had lunch with me.
Below is Amber, Me, and Tara.

Here we are with my Daddy at the nursing home.  It was his 81st birthday on Oct. 13th.
My baby boy, Keith, is in the band at his college.  He sure looks handsome!
Keith is the second from right (the tallest one)!
Clark, Amber, Tara, & me.  We just had supper celebrating Amber's 25th birthday.

Here is Tara doing a practice of carrying all her gear!  That sea bag on her back weighted 46 pounds!  I don't know how in the world that little girl carried all that stuff!

Tara the day we took her to the airport to fly to California.  She sure looks sharp!
These are my Daddy's siblings.  Uncle Junior(age 82), Aunt Vivian(age 79), and Uncle Goat(age 76).  Uncle Goat came up from Miami to visit his siblings and children.  This picture was taken at my Aunt Vivian's house.

Christmas earrings I tatted.
Earrings I tatted.

Me and my best friend, Barbara.  She flew down from Minnesota for her son's wedding and stayed with me.  I was so glad to see her!
This is a Christmas tree pin that I tatted and added extra beads to.
I was in our city hall voting for president and took a picture of this lovely quilt that is on the wall there.
Me and my baby boy, Keith.  He had on part of his band uniform.  This is an old covered bridge at his school.
This is just a small portion of my Mama's plates that are all along the top of the walls in our den and kitchen.  As long as I can remember my Mama collected plates from different states, countries, etc.  I spent a few days taking them all down and washing them and the walls.  I love her plates!
My beautiful Tara in the airport in California before she started the long journey to Africa.
This is my hair.  I had about 15 inches of it cut off and got it permed.
Here I am after the haircut and perm.  This is not the greatest picture and it was taken the day after I got it cut and permed.
This is a friend of mine's handkerchief.  I tatted some edging for it.  It thought it turned out pretty good.

Here is my Christmas tree!

This is my Christmas cactus.  It has had more blooms on it this year then ever before.  I have it at work.  It is beautiful!
I have still been working at the Medical Store.  I have also been spending a lot of time tatting lately.  Just finished a pair of earrings last night for my daughter to give to her teacher.  Amber's last day of college is Monday.  Yeah!
