I am still alive!

I imagine everyone must think something has happened to me since it has been over 2 months since my last post! I don't really have any reason for not posting other then I have just been lazy. I seem to spend more time reading other's blogs then working on my own! I hope to rectify that starting now!

The past two months have gone OK, I guess. Thanksgiving was nice. My nephew and his friend came and my daughter invited a friend of hers. So we had more people at the house then we usually do. It was a very nice day with lots of good food, cooked by yours truly, of course! Christmas was another story all together. I just could not seem to get into the Christmas spirit at all. It was my mama's favorite holiday and I really miss her something horrible during this time of year. So needless to say I was very, very depressed for several weeks. It took everything in me to have a Christmas for my children. I was just glad when it was all over. I know the true meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and I kept reminding myself of that and praying. Maybe next year will be better.

In November our high school football team went to the State Playoffs in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at the University of Alabama. Although our team did not win it was a great honor and privilege for them to get that far. It was the first time in 30 years that our high school football team has made it to State! I think half our town went to Tuscaloosa to watch them play and root them on! Of course my husband and I went too as our son is on the team.

Here is a picture of my son, Keith, with the awards he got for going to State. They just had the awards ceremony last night. I am so proud of him! He also went to the alter at church this past Sunday to make a profession of faith and will be Baptized soon! How much prouder can a mom get?!

This is a picture of me and my husband, taken January 1st on our anniversary! Notice how much more gray hair I have than him! He only has a few on the sides and in his mustache! I am probably gonna wind up white headed like my dad's side of the family!
Although I have not made any blog posts I have still been crocheting. Below is a goldfish that I crocheted for my daughter, Amber. He is made out of orange nylon thread with gold in it. I love the way he turned out! This is the third goldfish I have made. The other two are in this post also. They are all three different sizes because of the different threads used.

This is a ring I crocheted. You might be wondering what I crocheted around. Well, it is a marble! I just love it! My kids think it is a hoot!

I have also been crocheting lots and lots of flowers and butterflies! I love them! I am working on a purse to sew them onto. I have also crocheted a watchband and sewn flowers on it. I keep forgetting to take pictures of it. I will get some taken and posted.
This is a cute little bag I made for a lady.

This is my large goldfish I crocheted. He is crocheted using Peaches and Cream thread.
This is another bag I made myself to carry my thread in. It looked like I was crocheting a doily as I was making it. I just love it!
This is a little Kokeshia doll key fob I made. I have not decided what keys to use it with yet. I just love to look at her!
This is a case I made for my camera. Notice the flowers and butterfly I have sewn onto it!
These next two pictures are backwards. This is the back side of my baby doll wearing the crocheted outfit I made her.
Here is the front side of my baby doll. I have had her for about 40 years. I think she looks so cute in her new outfit!
These are a couple snowflakes and a Santa that I crocheted.
Here are more of my flowers!
Here is my smallest goldfish! He is made using size 10 crochet thread! He was the first one I made.

This is a cute little birdy I crocheted. I found the pattern on Attic 24's blog and although she had used larger sized thread to crochet him, I used size 10 crochet cotton. He is so tiny and cute!
This is just a cute little Kokeshia doll I crocheted.
I have also still been crocheting baby booties and hats and bonnets and jackets to sell. Be sure and check out my etsy shop. Hopefully soon I will have more items in there.
I hope there is still some out there who will read my blog. I am going to try and do better this year and post more often.
Hope you all have a very Blessed afternoon!
Diane
