Earrings

Here are a few of the earrings I have been making lately.

Beaded earrings & rings

As you could tell from the last post I have discovered bead weaving earrings. I was looking on YouTube for some video tutorials and came across this girls videos. Her name on YouTube is beadifulnights. I love her work! She gives great instructions in the videos although sometimes her hands are more in the camera frame then the beads. Still she explains things so well that this is not a hindrance. The following earrings are her design along with the two rings. The pink ring has a shank button in the middle. What a wonderful way to showcase my favorite buttons! Now I have the beading fever!
On a different note. It has been a great holiday season. My baby boy has been home on Christmas break for a while and I have so enjoyed that. He goes back to college this Friday. Won't be hearing a whole lot from my Navy baby for the next two weeks as she told me today that they will not have email on ship for the next two weeks. My oldest child is still at home and doing good.
Finally got my Christmas tree taken down yesterday and all the rest of the decorations put away. It always looks so plain and blah in the den after the tree comes down.

New earrings

I've had these earrings tatted for awhile but took forever putting earring wires on. I don't know why I seem to procrastinate doing that.

Mom pin

This is what I did with the MOM pin my daughter gave me for Christmas. The colors in the thread will go with most all of my sets of scrubs I wear to work. I will be able to wear it just about every day if I want to

Tatted bag

Finished this little tatted bag yesterday. It is 3 & 1/2 inches tall. I'll probably use it to hang on my arm and hold my ball of thread. I just love making little bags. Although this one more time consuming then crocheted ones are.

Good day!

It was a good day yesterday. Got to talk to my daughter, Tara, for a few minutes. It was so good to hear her voice. Her ship is in port for a few days in Salalah, Oman. She is loving being able to go ashore for a few days. We had Christmas dinner after my husband got home from work last night. Then we opened presents and then went up to the nursing home to visit my Daddy. The weather was horrible. We were under tornado watches coming and going. Thank the good Lord none touched down here although I did hear on the news that one touched down about 10 miles from here.
At the nursing home they had all the residents in the hallways. This really upset Daddy. He does not like to be moved out of his spot in his room at all. Luckily when we got there the tornado warning had passed and we were able to roll him in his bed back into his room.
I got several pieces of jewelry from my children. The glass pendant with pink in it is from my son Keith. All the other pieces are from my daughter Amber. She and I were looking at some pieces in Wal-Mart. I had told her I wanted to get some things that I could tat around. So she picked out the heart pendant and Mom pin for that purpose. I was so surprised! She also got me the Planters tin with nuts in them. I just love the tin!
It was a great Christmas! Today, however, I am back at work and exhausted! Hahaha

Sitting here with Daddy at the nursing home. Bless his heart he just can't seem to stay awake.
Fixing to go home and start preparing stuff for our Christmas dinner tonight. My husband had to work today and won't get off till 6pm this evening. So we are having our Christmas dinner after he gets home and open presents then too.
